I am going to write you a little, I hope it will find you in good health.  Dear Anna, I am sending you 5 dollars, one is for you, one is for Karl, and one is for Ellewies (Eloise), and the other 2 are for the dear little ones.  Please don’t spurn this little gift, it is [given] with love.  Now my dears, I am wishing you all a very blessed Christmas and a happy New Year.  The good Lord be with all of you.  Now I am closing with many warm [cordial] greetings to you all together.  The Lord be with you.
