This photograph of Harlan School, located at 120 South Hyland, was taken shortly before its demolition in 1977.  It was originally named Welch School until the new Welch Junior High building was opened in 1968 at 321 State Street. Thereafter it was named Harlan after the long-time principal John Harlan. It was an active school through the 1972 to 1973 school year.  (Farwell T. Brown Photographic Archive)
