We urge everyone to participate in our gala seventh birthday celebration with fun for the family because our interest lies first with the entire family.

Here at the Ranch Drive-In, we consider ourselves a family and constantly study family likes and dislikes in screen entertainment in an effort to present all-family programs for you enjoyment.  Each Tuesday and Wednesday evening we have family nights which enable Mom, Dad and the children to load up in the family car and be admitted for only one dollar.  Monday and Thursday nights each week are Treat Nights for the "kiddies," while during June, July and August every Saturday evening we hold a special Night Owl Show.

The Ranch Drive-In facilities are now being used for the third season by the Ames Ministerial Association for Sunrise Services held each Sunday morning at 7 a.m. during June, July and August.  We are indeed happy to be of service to the many worshippers who take advantage of the services and to the Ames Ministerial Association in furthering their work.

This aerial view from the late 1940s shows Grand Avenue (Highway 69) heading north from Ames.  13th street crosses the photo in the foreground.  The Gerbrachts resided on the east side of Grand Avenue on a large lot extending from 18th Street to 20th Street (neither is graded at the time of this photo).  Many of the small pines visible on the huge Gerbracht estate (curved driveway) still exist today as mature trees.  Just to the north on Highway 69 (from 20th to 24 Street) are the homes and farm operation of William Barr and his son, Charlie Barr.  William Barr was Mildred Gerbracht's father.  North Grand Mall today occupies the site of the farm visible at the upper left corner of this photo.
