Vernard Whattoff, at right, looks over the new 1954 Studebakers just delivered to Whattoff Motor Company at 118 Hayward Avenue. The Tribune advertisement below says, Stop in and see Chet, Buzz, Don, Bill or Vern today for a deal you can’t pass up! The Whattoff Motors Company building is the white structure at left, later used by Bournes Laboratories and today shared by Domino's Pizza and Nite Owl Printing. The stylish brick building at center was Lindquist Cleaners at 120 Hayward. Charlie Miller's home at 132 Hayward is visible at the corner of Hayward and Chamberlain.
