Camp Fire Girls meet Mayor DeHart

MEETING THE PEOPLE - As a project for the year, the Wa-di-ta-ka Camp Fire girls are meeting people in Ames in order to better understand their community. Monday the girls were introduced to Mayor Pearle DeHart who showed them through the City Hall. This project is in connection with the celebration of the Camp Fire Girls 48th anniversary. Mrs. Richard Pohl is the leader of the group.

Mayor DeHart also met with a Girl Scout group in March of 1958.
MAYOR IS FIRST CUSTOMER - Mayor Pearle DeHart is the first customer to buy the Girl Scout Nuts. The annual nut sale begins Friday and continutes through March 23. Proceeds from the sale of the nuts go to support Camp Moingona, near Camp Dodge, and day camps in this area. Pictured left to right are Mayor DeHart, Susan Wichersham, Brownie Troop 280, Judi Mathison, Senior Scout Troop 272 and Paulette Larson, Intermediate Scout Troop 55.
