1952 Iowa State College Veishea Parade Floats

Nineteen other floats besides Delta Zeta's sweepstakes winning "Building Leadership" took prizes or honorable mentions in Saturday's Veishea float parade.  They were:

Men's residence association: Nobel House, "Don't Hide Your Head - Get Ahead," first place: Godfrey house, "Leadership Takes Sense," second place; and ward system, "Spirit of Leadership," honorable mention.

Fraternities: Theta Delto Chi, "new Horizons," first place; Sigma Chi, "A Giant in War or Peace," second place; Delto Tau Delta, "Stick with Leadership," and Lambda Chi Alpha, "Pioneers in Education," honorable mentions.

Departments: Dairy industry, "Making Future Leaders Strong," first place; Forestry, "Nature Leads Science," second place; Iowa State Mining society, "The Need for Raw Materials Leads the Way," honorable mention.

Campus organizations: Arnold Air society, "Education has its Fine Points," first place; Pershing Rifles, "Military Leadership," second place; Order of the Sextant, "A Lesson in Leadership with the NROTC," honorable mention.

Women's residences: Roberts hall, "Women Maintain a Hold of Leadership," and Lyon hall, "One Jump Ahead - Leadership."

Sororities: Kappa Alpha Theta, "Lead and They Shall Follow," first place; Chi Omega, "Bully for Leadership," second place; Alpha Gamma Delta, "Got a Leader on the Line," and Sigma Kappa, "Pulling for the Future," honorable mentions.
