The new home for the Tribune was built by Ben Cole & Son and was occupied in December of 1929. It took only six months to complete building on the vacant lot. The formal opening was delayed until September 4, 1931 from 7 to 10:10 am. The August 31, 1931, house-warming edition celebrated the the new building and the 10th anniversary of the purchase of Ames Daily Tribune-Times by J. L. Powers.
