Clever advertising card for Trueblood Shoe Store.

A shimmering moiré effect was obtained by slowly moving the transparent piece of specially ruled acetate over the picture.  An early example of this effective optical illusion of motion appeared in “The Motograph Moving Picture Book” published in London in 1898.
