Woodland Dairy Employees
Photo from the early 1940s
Woodland Dairy employees Betty Arneson, Dorothy Johnson Shepard, Luella Britson, Marian Ullestad are shown. The dairy was located at 819 Lincoln Way, across from the Iowa Highway Commission.
Theodore Hermanson owned Woodland Dairy Farms.
This aerial view from the Farwell T Brown Photographic Archive faces northeast and shows the area around Woodland Dairy Farms in 1937 during the construction of the Grand Avenue underpass. East Central is visible (top center) as are the footings for the new Ames High School (today, Ames City Hall). Construction of the Collegian Theater has just been completed. Both the Chicago and North Western Depot (visible just below the Collegian Theater) and the Fort Dodge, Des Moines & Southern Depot are seen.
From 1950 through 1952, M.J. Richards operated Hamburger in the Ruff in the former Woodland Dairy. Afterwards the building (painted pink) would become the Lucky G restaurant.
