From the August 13, 1903 edition of the Ames Times:
They have an automobile in Nevada.  They haven't any at Ames, and the Nevada fellows take a delight in coming over here in the thing and traveling up and down main street.  One mean old thing over there at Nevada had the audacity to start the story that the screen doors were broken off a store building by Ames people rushing out to see what it was when the machine went by.  Nevada always was noted for hot air, and that's what the machine is run by.  The "Times" would suggest though, that if they want to put it to practical use, they hitch it onto a mowing machine and cut down the weeds around the Iowa Falls depot in that city.  That would be a good idea.
