O-h-h-h my, what a lazy day. After playing in the prinkler at a Sprinkler Party Friday, kids at Meeker Playground gather for a sun bath just like the "big" boys and girls do at the swimming pool.
Main Street parade photo believed to be from 1963
This photo of a parade down Main Street shows Ron McConkey driving his early 1950s XK-120 Jaguar. The queen's sash says Schoeneman's. The Jaguar XK 120 was introduced in 1948. It shared its chassis with the Mark V, although the 120's was shortened somewhat. The XK120 had a two piece windshield and was equipped with the new twin-cam six cylinder engine. Specifications for Jaguar XK 120: Engine Straight 6, 3442cc; Power 160bhp @ 5000 rpm; Transmission Manual 4-speed; Chassis Box section; Suspension Independent front, leaf spring rear; Brakes Lockheed hydraulic drum; Top speed 200 km/h; Acceleration 0-96 km/h: 10 seconds.

Ingval Estrem, who came to America from Norway just after he was born, drives his 1930 Case tractor on his farm near Slater. He still uses the tractor in all farming operations including plowing.
