Nick Nolte, well-known Hollywood movie actor, lived
in Ames as a youngster from 1945-1950 and attended Beardshear School.
The family lived in the Queen Anne style Victorian home at 823 Douglas
Ave. Nick’s father, Frank, played football at Iowa State from 1929-1931.
